looking for a good bone

Jake and Wylie every eve like to chew on their bones for about 15 minutes, well Jakes broke a few teeth on them. He is an extremely hard chewer I need to find something that is softer and something he cant eat.

They do this in my dining room so it heas to be something they can have in the house

please advise

they are digestible but not overly hard

Bullys wont work, I tried that once, he tried to swallow/chew the thing whole, I had to pull it from his throat, before he choked, it was literally long ways down his throat while he was trying to chew. Shocked

I use raw beef rib bones, but they can leave a mess. If you can train your dogs to enjoy in a special spot you can throw down a dog blanket like I do. My dogs will take all there special treats to there own blankets no matter where I put them.

I do the raw marrow bones too. When Molly gets to the point where she's breaking the bone off in pieces I toss that one and she can have a new one.
I also don't like the chews that dogs can swallow and hesitate to give Molly one.

If a dog gets use to having real bones I don't think they would show any interest in a Nylabone but thats what Duke and Freckles love to gnaw on. Just the solid hard nylon ones not the edible kind. I get the large size and it will last for months. The tiny bits that they manage to shave off pass thorugh with no problems.
Only drawback is when I come home each day, or first thing each morning, Duke "arms" himself with that gnawed on bone and runs around with it sitcking out of his mouth, The end has tiny rough sharp bits sticking out and it really hurts when he slams it into a bare leg. Even worse, he will drop it on a bare toe. Ouch.

the reason they like my dinin room is its the only place carpeted. They do have diffferent times tehy liek to chew so i am not keen on teh raw bones in the house.

I've tried the Nylabone edibles with Annie...none of them could last more than 10 minutes with her, and they were a bit pricey for that. I didn't try the Roarhide though.

I just give the marow bones on the "dog sheet"..she knows not to take the bone off the sheet...so that works for us.

if itw as anywhere else the lay, but my nice dining room, I could do something like that. but they have already taken over the rest of the house.

thanks for the input on the nylabone, did you see that Galielo though? it says its for aggressive chewers.
