Today I purchased what was spouse to be 4 jd's I realized when I got home that they all weren’t the same. There was one fish that was different I don’t have a picture of the fish so I searched the web and found this pic
http://www.fishpalace.org/A_nigrofasciatus.html
It looks just like him so im pretty sure this is what I got. I have the 55g with 1 clown knife fish @ 3in, 3 JD's @1/2in - 1 in, and this convict @ 1 in., I plan to move them to a much larger tank latter but there all very small now. I was just wondering what kind of luck I might have if I keep the convict I’ve read they can be vary aggressive. It’s only been a few hours and things seem Ok but im sure it’s too soon to tell.
So I’m wondering if it’s best to bring him back? |

JD's and cons can get along provided the tank is large enough and none of the fish are really hyper aggressive.
And out of curiosity, how big of a tank are you planning to upgrade to and how long do you think it will be? You said 400 - 500 in a previous thread; is that still the plan?
That clown knife is going to get absolutely huge. So combine that with 3 JD's, a con, and the 2 pacu (assuming you're wanting to keep them all together, you're going to be needing around 800 - 1000 gallons.
And are all these fish (the JD's, con, knife, pacu, and africans) all in the same 55 gallon? Are you still having problems with the pacu?
