Some people breeding Pit Bulls shouldn't even be owning them. A lady moving here just bred a litter. She has both the male and female, she said the female is trained man biter, ect(all the details of her aggression) then she said it is totally crazy dog, no one can get near it I trained her like that from day one, but she's just crazy! She's not crazy, well now she is, its not like she was born like this, the woman purposfully made her like this! I believe this dog probably wasn't a the best dog or she wouldn't have been able to make her this way with the type of encouragements she did. She said the male is too soft, but she bred him to her female because they will make very nice pups. The pups are already here 9 of them! She is selling them all males $100 and females $150 adba reg. I in no way would ever get one, but the question was asked what bloodline. She said the female is a red dog bloodline and the male is a regular american bloodline whatever that is supposed to mean. She was terrified of my friends Pit Bulls I wonder why with her psycho female. These dogs moving in where there are a lot of small children in that neighborhood! Her relative (cousin I think) also has a Pit Bull. She bought, I had never seen it but she said it was out of blue dogs. When asked about the bloodline she said I don't know I think the lady said blue? The dog (I finally saw her hubby walking it) is black and white and doesn't look pure at all. It has the backend and head of a pit bull with a different front in and coat. The dog has featherying on its legs and hair around its neck. Wonder if she is going to breed like her cousin did? She hasn't mentioned it but its only a matter of time before these people think they can make money by selling litters of pups!!!

I worked at a local feed store for a short time and it was insane the number of people who talked about breeding pits!! One man would always brag about how much money "his pits" could bring. Meanwhile he came into the store to buy the cheapest generic dog food we offered. I asked him several times to bring a puppy for me to see, even invited him to compete in an all breed spay/neuter benefit dog show I co-sponsored. He never did. It just makes me sick the number of dogs that die every day, due to the number of BYB's who mass breed just to make a quick buck! They do no background checks-just sling these pups at anyone willing to pay!! Our pittie was confiscated from a couple who tried to smuggle her into a no pets allowed apartment, and ended up at the pound. She was only 4 weeks old.UGHHHHHH!!!!!
O.K. I'm done preachin' now........................

There's a line of AB's that have feathering hair here and there... Long Haired AB is what they call them... I've seen a couple pics... sounds kinda like the dog you might be describing...

American Pit Bull as opposed to an American Bulldog...maybe they got it mixed up... AB's don't have any "blue" though...Hmmmm...

Never seen an AB come in black or 45lbs. This is an APBT mix and its not uncommon for the mixes to have featherying and longer hair, I think it may be lab because it has that lab coat, its not long but not short but a lot different then a Pit Bull coat. If it was an AB it'd look like a bulldog and not a mutt. Either way she shouldn't breed (and I hope she doesnt get the idea) what kind of person would buy a dog thats really an AB and be told its a Pit Bull, she'd be dumber than I thought.

The Standard type of the AB looks a lot like a pit they aren't hardly smashed in at all... Agreed if she can't tell the difference she shouldn't be breeding ANYTHING but it's easy for the two breeds to be mixed up by the general public.

Can you post a pic of the standard type of AB? I haven't been exposed to very many ABs. When I read the weight it states they should be 60-100lbs for females. 45 is just a big weight difference to me. I was and may possibly still be interested in an AB if I can find a smaller one (not 45lbs or anything) I'd be happy with 60-70lbs. Maybe often confused but I'm not the "general public", I'm sure no "offense" was meant by that but I'm not one to mistake some other breed for a Pit Bull.

This beautiful creature is what I think of, when I think of an AB. I might get one in the future, a smaller one.

here is an update. Well the people finally moved in with the 2 dogs and pups, finally got them brought down here. The price is now $125 and the parents are said to have papers but everytime the owner calls to get them the guy gets drunk and doesn't bring them. So the pups don't have papers yet. The guy was bragging b/c the female has already bit someone (been here 2 days) and trying to sell the pups for only $125 and they are already fighting, they are already fighting, kept having to repeat that. Don't know for what purpose other then to sound like a nut case.
