We live in the Solomon Islands, there are no vets here, and I have a 4mth old female moggie. Is there any way I can prevent her coming into heat?
I have heard of using the human contraceptive Depo Provera on dogs, does anyone know if this an option for cats? If so, what dosage?
HELP. much as I love cats, I don't want to add to the population! |

drugs on cats - i wouldn't chance it - you have to get her fixed.
Oh - and depo provera is evil.
i wouldn't suggest it for humans! |

spaying is the only way. If you can't get her to a vet the other option is to keep her inside and be very cautious when she is in the heat.
The other concern would be that every heat a cat is allowed to come into, without mating, brings the cat a step closer to developing pyometria which is life threatening. |
