| Our dear Sweet Pea has been treated with Tapezol (gel-on her ears) for several years. Over the past year she has eaten less and now many times refuses to eat. Her blood tests are normal. It appears that when her stomach is empty she vomits liquid, but she is mostly reluctant to eat. We don't know what to do and 2 vets have had no great ideas. ??? |

Hi, my cat is almost 18, in July and has this condition, since 2000.
The most impt thing you want to do, is to get fluids into her.
By now, the vets should have advised you to just feed her canned food.
(moistness)
When she won't eat, try chicken broth (no seasoning or homemade)
Chicken Noodle Soup, even Gatarode (vet suggested this!).. tuna usually works. My cat also likes water with ice cubes in it.
If she gets really dehydrated she may then need to be put, on fluids, that you do yourself.. yes involves needle and putting under skin.. yikes!.. but it works!
also,** remember when they're elderly, tho they may not look it, its harder for them to move around. A lot of times, I bring water or broth to my cat.
It can be really frustrating when they won't eat or drink. ohh also babyfood.. like turkey, ham .
Just have to keep trying and if that doesn't work, then the trip to the vet and fluids.
Blessings Whispered and let me know
oh ps: I live in ca and the same med is really expensive here, so I have it sent from another state. |

there is a medication that makes cats hungry. Cypro something (I have some for the fosters and that's all that is written on the bottle).
It is an antihistimine and can make the cat tired but at least they eat |
