|
|
I took Milo to the vet on Tues. He did really well! For being an alpha kitty at home, he was not very ferocious at the vet. He was so mellow, they loved him! Milo meowed nonstop asking me to take him home, poor kid. He weighed in at 13 lbs. 11oz. , has good teeth, and is deemed very healthy. He got his feline leuk and rabies shots. His vet recommended he be seen every 6 months. How many of you take your kitties to the vet for regular checkups 2x a year for preventative measure? I just think it's too stressful on our little kitties. |

| Good for Milo! I take mine in once a year. Which reminds me that now is the time they usually go. The vet has never suggested anymore than that. Artemis loves the vet (any attention is good attention!!), but Moe would finds it a bit a stressful. She needs to be held down by 4 people to get her shots. |

Good to hear vene!
I don't take mine 2x a year, only once. I might consider going twice under certain circumstances such as when my animals are elderly or if they had a specific health problem that needed monitoring. |

| When Vianne was a kitten she went to the vet soooo many times cuz she was sick. She progressively began to HATE going and got to the point where they put a note on her records that she is "hostile" LOL. She is due for her Rabies shot and check up in a couple weeks and it will be her first visit to a regular vet. (she was seeing the shelter clinic's vet before) I can't wait to see how she handles it. I don't plan on taking her more than once a year tho unless there's a problem. She's only 2 1/2. |

Poor Milo. Sounds like he did well, though. I'm glad Milo had a good checkup.
My kitties are nervous at the Vet's. I try to take them only once a year since they hate it. Sometimes it is more, though. |

| I am Glad to hear Milo is well. I never took my ats to the vet on a regular basis and paid the price both were seriously ill by the time they got there. Both were also above 10yrs. My vet recomended at least once a year before 7yrs and twice after that. |

Mine go yearly and once they hit 9 years of age I get them a complete blood panel to stay on top of anything.
Dixie goes Saturday....that should be fun. She's 9 now.
I only do the feline leuk and distemper vaccines every 3 years. They are inside only and even though I take in fosters they have to be tested prior to being accepted into Rescue so I don't worry about that.
Missy doesn't get feline leuk at all cause it makes her really really ill.
And good for Milo glad to hear he's doing well |

Thanks everyone! Pumpkin, Monty, and Rene are due too for their check-up. I may order a blood panel done on Pumpkin since she's 12 and arthritic (in my eyes). Good luck to those of you who still need to take your kitties in for a well visit, epecially Moe + Arty,Vianne and Dixie. |
