Do adult teeth regrow? I say no - my fiance' says yes.

I don't think they do. I know with rats and some related animals, their teeth never stop growing...but cats? I've never heard of that Wink

nope...but I think Chessmind can tell you for sure. But I've had foster cats who have had teeth pulled, one who had no upppers at all, and they didn't grow back

Some humans have a rare condition where they have a third set of teeth, or a few extra ones. I suppose it's possible it could happen in cats too. But it would be very rare. Normal cats get two sets...baby teeth and adult teeth.

It's rare but possible! I happens in humans so why not other mammals?

I was searching the net to find out about this as we got a rescued cat 4 years ago. She had had to have most of her teeth taken out before we took her in. However, in the past few months she has regrown one of the small top teeth! We were told she was probably about 8 years old when we got her so I find this truly amazing. Would love to know of anyone else who has seen the same thing..
