Hi! There is a newbie to the board

Hi! I'm new to this site and I guess I was just looking to get some worry off my mind. My 9 year old cat just had surgery and now that she's home I an in a state of constant worry. She had to have her uterus removed because she had an infection so bad they thought she had a tumor. Now she won't come out of hiding and hasn't eaten a thing since she came home today. My 13yr old cat who is a insulin dependent diabetic keeps trying to get in the room with her and I am trying to give her space to calm down. I am a worrywort when it comes to my babies the oldest is Spooky 13 (cat), Molly 9 (cat), Buffy 7 (dog), Katie 4 (human). I have my Hands full but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I hope your Molly feels better soon. Did the vet by any chance give you liquid pain medication for her?

she may not be hungry with all the drugs they gave her... make sure she has clean fresh water close to her and try little by little to get her to eat.

she is most likely hurting and any animals tendancy is to hide when they hurt. Give her time - i'm sure she'll be ok.

Did the 13 year old and the 9 year old get along well really well before - she could be wanting to see whats wrong...

and welcome! I'd have the 2 cats separated until she starts feeling better. That may be a day or 2. She's going to need a lot of TLC. When my cats were spayed, or had surgery, the'd like to hide or sit on our laps. They did not eat or drink much until they started feeling better. You might want to confine her if she's on antibiotics and/or painkillers. Our cats usually get the runs and if you have rugs..... Mr. Green

Molly seems to be feeling a little better. She has a little more of an appetite today and she's been wetting the litterbox more frequently. She is still hiding but she has always been one to hide. She is being pretty good about taking her meds only tried to bite me once today. I appreciate all who showed concern and to know that Molly has friends on her side makes me feel better. We will get through thia too as we have everything else.

I'm so glad Molly is felling better. It does take time to recuperate after surgery. I'm sure she will be herself in no time.
