|
|
While Tango was in the bathroom with me this morning I noticed something strange on his rear end, its about the size of a pea and black/grey in colour.
We'll of course he wouldn't let me look properly so had to get my bf to hold him while I got a wet cotton wool ball and gave it a light clean and examined it. (it looks like its ready to burst so I didn't want to put any preasure on it)
Poor thing, it was obviously sore so we let him go and called the vet and have an appointment in a couple of hours, fingers crossed its nothing too serious. He seams to be in a good mood today anyway - wish us luck! |

Is he a cat that goes outside as this sounds a little like a tick.
I could be wrong though the vet will be able to tell you when he examines tango.

| Thanks for the replies, I suspected a tick at first too (he does go outside) but I'm pretty sure its not a tick after having a quick look (could be wrong) , I've dealt with ticks before - not fun & if it is a tick on his butt theres no way I would try and remove it from there, its a definate trip to the vet! |

Well the vet says its a lump Could be more serious, we can have it removed and tested to see if its cancerous, but, because of where it is it could cause further problems such as incontinence. hmm
The vet says he doesn't seem in pain because of it, hes just really unhappy about people touching and examining his butt (fair enough)
So with Tango being 12/13 years old were not going to put him through the operation, I don't want to risk his incontenece just to find out the lump isn't cancerous! Its not worth it. Were going to keep a close eye on him for any signs of him getting ill and just hope he doesn't - what else can we do |
