Strange things in tank, any ideas?

Today I was feeding my newt and saw what I thought were tiny white particles floating in the water, then I realized that they were swimming and crawling.

It's a ten gallon tank, with one adolecent ramshorn snail and one firebellied newt. He has a UV light, water temp at 70 degrees, and I feed him freeze dried shrimp pellets and "Jurassic Newt Food." The newt has been hiding out for a few days lately, if that matters any. Everyone is looking healthy as of now.

The actual little white things are about the size of a period, as in what is going to follow this sentence. They have white bodies and clear tails and antannae. What could these possibly be? I've just noticed more eggs over in the corner of the tank. If they are something good, I don't want to harm them. But if they are harmful I need to clean out the tank and remove them.

Any ideas as to what they may be and course of action to be taken?

Hokay, this is an easy one. Your snail layed eggs. snails are hermathadytes <(however u spell it) and that means they dont need a partner to reproduce. So it laid eggs and had babies and all the fun stuff, so if you dont want ur tank over run with snails get rid of them.

I don't think that's what they are, the snail in there now is the product of the two adult snails in the other tank. I've seen them lay three broods, so I know what they look like, these are different. The eggs weren't the same. =/

ok i have a sugestion i not sure it right and i dont know if newts lay eggs or not or anything but are they posably baby newts?? and i dont know how they reproduce. if they need 1 or 2 of them

Did u recently bring in any new live plants?

Often when peopel buy live plants the plants have snail eggs attached to them. but since u got so many in ur tank i doubt it that. but still a guess.

And who edits? who spends so much time on this site that they care about their spelling?
