Baby, one of my fosters, has had goopy runny eyes since she got here - well before actually cause she had this at the shelter too.
We've been using an ointment tetr-something - too lazy to go check the tube. Been using it off/on for weeks. Her eyes will stop being runny and goopy after using the ointment for about 4 days and I continue for a few more for good measure. Within a week of discontinuing the ointment her eyes are red-rimmed and runny again.
I wash them off before using the ointment, dry them thoroughly.
My vet things it's an allergy. The shelter used clay litter and I use scooping. Since she had the problem there and here I'm assuming it's not litter.
She's not congested, nose isn't runny - just her eyes.
I have added L-lysine to her food to help bolster her immune system.
Anyone have any experience or ideas? |

Hey.
Hooben here from the fish forum, just out of curiosity...is you cat white?
White cats will sometimes have this reaction to the sunlight. It has to do with their skin pigment, they are more sensitive. |

| no - it's a foster siamese cat. I wash her eyes 2x a day and they still run horribly. I have an ointment I put in them and they clear up for a few days hate to put stuff in her eyes forever though. |
