Our little Maine Coon girl is two years old this month. Actually she weighs in at 15 pounds, so she is not that little. We want to get a second Maine Coon. We really love the temperment of our female. Does anyone know if male Maine Coons have similar temperments, or are they more aggressive. Our girl is sweet, smart, very social, doesn't bite, loves to play, loves company etc. Are males the same?

Hi. I think each cat is just different. You could take two male cats and two female cats and they will all have different personalities. I say just go with your gut instinct when you choose a pal for your cat. Otherwise Kyles101 has a Maine Coon named Pepe. You could PM her and ask what she thinks too.

id say get another female to be on the safe side. although pepe is psycho mainly because thats just him, i think the males overall are a bit more fiesty and will most likely try to dominate the other cat. its bad enough having pepe try to dominate pheobe so i can imagine it wouldnt be too pretty having 2 maine coons fighting all the time.
