We went to a local park yesterday to take Rusty's Christmas photo-- I think it came out awesome. He wasn't too fond of sitting still (he was way too worried about the local squirrel population!) But I did manage to get this one great shot of him.
Also, check out the "Holiday Picture Party" on Dogster-- where every dog can have it's own holiday themed page. Here's the link to Rusty's:

Great Christmas pic. It would make a great X-mas card.

Thanks everybody......yes, Rusty is a great little mutt. And you correct, Abby's mom--- he is a dachsund/JRT cross. Personally, I am totally a mutt person. I've only had one purebred in my life (a St. Bernard when I was a teenager), the rest have all been mutts. And they had longer, healthier lives. My last was a Schnauzer/Cocker Spaniel mix, she was the best dog in the world. And we had a Scottie/doxy cross, and a yorkie/poodle cross...... but I do have to say that Rusty has about the most character of any so far. He is quite the personality. He thinks so hard about things, and figures things out in ways I've never seen a dog do before. He thinks dimensionally.... walks around and looks at things from different angles.....and regonizes things in a three dimensional way moreso than your average dog. He's pretty interesting to observe sometimes.
And your right, Sams......he's really looking healthy. Especially since I started feeding him something called "Wolf Blend" raw food. It's something a get from this really awesome local raw food supplier. He makes it for a place called "Wolf Haven", they feed it to the wolves. He sells it to customers in 1 and 2 lb containers ( for only $1.69 a lb.!!!). I also get freeze dried anchovies from him too. Rusty will do ANYTHING for the little fishies! But since I've been feeding him all that, he's really been looking exceptionally healthy. |
