What breed is this?

I was at this dog event in the park and this woman had a pitbullish looking dog. Really made me mad. The dog kept trying to bite other people's dogs and she would laugh like it was a joke. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the exact breed of the dog from the following description (this is no way meant as an attack on pitbulls or anything - I'm just curious as it has been bothering me for awhile - one of those things you don't know and can't stop thinking about til you have an answer).

So, the dog like I said looked pitbullish. But very short, built like a bulldog (stocky/wide), but with the head of a pit? The head was really wide/big. This isn't a very good description I know. Basically, a bulldog without the bulldog head but a pittish looking head. I don't know if that is a separate breed or a mix or something.

It is almost impossible for anyone to correctly say what type of breed you saw. It is anyone's guess.
There are a number of American Staffordshire Terriers, pitbull mixes, Boxer/pit, etc., bulldog cross, etc., that the dog could have been.

Irresponsible dog owners in general like the one you described make me sick.
Its people allowing their dogs to act like this that give other pitbulls a bad name.
Unfortunately, people don't seem to remember that dogs are just as individual as people.
My pitbull mix just passed her CGC. She has been doing "Pet Therapy" for quite some time now in nursing homes. Now she call legally go into hospitals.
She was a shelter dog that no one wanted because she was "A PITBULL CROSS."
I am now working on my brand new shelter American Pitbull Terrier and training her to do a Workshop Seminar this coming September on Breed Ambassadorship!!!
These are the things that need to be done in order to preserve our treasured breed!
Sniff our the losers that want to own these dogs and and replace with responsible owners that will bring them to become treasured family pets.

She looked most like the staffordshire bull terrier but her head was wider and bigger. I know she wasn't a pit (if she was then she was the worst example of a pit i've ever seen), just resembled one.

I know what you mean about giving pits, etc. a bad name - she is the reason (and people like her). Just blows my mind why someone would bring a dog like that to a dog park event. This stupid dog went out of her way to try to bite other dogs - lunged about 5 feet and came within 1 cm of biting my puppy. That just got me fuming. Then I saw them again around the watering hole (a kiddie pool) and this dog was in it chasing (like teeth showing) other dogs and kids away. The idiot owner was just standing there laughing. I totally get when dogs are like shy and bite out of fear, but this dog was looking for a fight. Ok. I'm done now. I could go on about this all day.

It was probably an American Pit Bull Terrier (i think) because they come in so many different looks and some are crossed but registered as pure, some are bred to look the way the breeder/owner wants and others are poorly bred and bad examples.

Look anything similar to this? That warrior dog looks real bad, then you have a female that is only 13" and 65lbs! Not proportionate at all.

Yep. I think that is what she was. APBT. She looked like Lou on the entrance page (except she had more white - not that you care). Built like Lou at least. Glad this mystery of mine is solved.

So there you have it. Wow another one of these "pit" owners with a very poor example thinking their dog looks "tough" and "cool" and is so "bad" and think its so awesome when they act aggressive. And calling these THINGS APBTs!! When will these people find another breed! Or drop off the face of the earth forever.

I'm just wondering how funny he thinks its going to be when one of these days his poorly trained and bred dog turns and bites him!!!!
