Trying to Find a Reputable Maltipoo Breeder

Can anyone recommend a reputable maltipoo breeder? My family and I would like to buy a maltipoo due to the fact that I am allergic to dogs.

I have been on the internet for days now and I just don't know who I can trust!

The best way to find a reputable breeder would actually be to visit their breeding establishments (if possible) and speak to the breeder personally.

Just surfing the net will not give you a clear picture of what conditions the dogs and puppies are kept in or even the temperament of the potential parents. It's easy for someone to say "yes our dogs are very friendly and live in our home", splash around a few pics of their house and their dogs playing but in all actuality their dogs may have serious temperament problems and live in squalor.

Ask a lot of questions. A good breeder should always be helpful and up front. If they hesitate to answer a question there's a good chance that they are trying to hide something from you. References are also good too, previous or present owners of dogs the breeder has produced will generally be insightful on what the problems are with the breeder or their dog.

Health testing is also important. What tests have the breeders done to ensure that their dogs are healthy? Hips testing? BAER (hearing test)? CERF (eye testing)? Can they provide you with documentation that these tests have been done?

Every dog has it's faults. I would steer clear of anyone who claims that their dogs are perfect. Good breeders will be honest with you, even if it's something small like white tonails instead of black.

Lastly, if you have allergies you should definitely go and meet the parents of the potential pup that you may be purchasing and even the pup itself. Just because a breed or mix claims to be hypoallergenic doesn't mean that you won't have a reaction to the entire breed or even a specific dog.
