I have posted before about 15 yr. old Boo's problem with her losing her fur and not grooming hereself like she used to. I had her checked out at the vet, and he had said that it is most likely age related, and it's not to muchh of a concern. Her blood work came back, and her kidney numbers were elevated 1 1/2. She is now also on high blood pressure medication, as well as being blind. Everything else in her blood work was fine. She is a very happy cat and has adjusted to her handicaps very well. Any way, getting back to the subject, I decided to get her shaved to help her with her problems with balding and matting. She was not very thrilled! But I think she feels better, and the hair has grown back, for the most part were it was getting thin. I am going to continue with the hair cuts, it's much easier to help her maintain herself. Here is a before and after pic.

Hi. You are taking very good care of her. I am glad you had her checked out with the vet. You probably already know this, but having less fur means she can get chilly. Hope you have a nice warm cozy home. I think that was a really clever solution to have her fur trimmed. Your the best

Cute little Boo doesn't look to happy in the 2nd picture. I'm sure she'll get used to her short hair cut.

Kitties do seem to have more problems as they get older. Sounds like you are taking good care of her.

Boo looks so tiny after the cut. I've had to have Pumpkin shaved at one time too. We couldn't manage her mats. I love the new fur that grows out, so soft.
