Annie's sick...I left her with a friend on Wednesday and didn't pick her up until last night, as I was out of town. He said she had developed diarreha yesterday morning and hadn't been eating well for the past two days. I was a little concerned, but she'd gotten into the other dog's food there before and it upset her a bit...so I got her home, and she doesn't just have a little diarreha, it's liquid and kinda clear to yellow in color(in the dark under a flood light). I can't get her to eat..she drank some last night but I can't get her to drink this morning. I'm taking her to the vet, but I really need to go to class, would it be really bad if I didn't take her till about 2 p.m.? It's 9 a.m. now. She looks like she feels awful. I just feel so guilty for leaving her. If anyone's on here, do you think waiting 5 hours before I go to the vet will make a difference?

How old is she??? It does matter...you should at least get her to the vet, leave her and go to school... Let the vet know you'll be checking in etc... (if that's possible)... I'm sure you can make up the work etc... Your dog is very sick...needs a vet ASAP.

I agree with Sara, get the dog to the vet ASAP and then go to school. You can pick her up after class. THe dog needs immediate attention.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I took Annie to the vet. She just thinks she probably got into something she shouldn't have and it's nothing too serious, she's just a bit dehydrated. So, She gave her some subcutaneous fluids, and gave me some antibiotics and an anti-diarreheal medicine, and told me to just feed rice for 48 hours. Annie of course as soon as we got to the vet's perked up and tried to not act sick like she has been. So, i'm $93 poorer, but it looks like the dog will be fine Surprised . But if that's all it takes i'm not complaining.
