7 month old Riley loves to use the carpeting in the master bed. and the guest bed. as his "personal" scratching post. I have scratching posts and other catscratching toys for him to use, but he still prefers the carpetting and, as a matter of fact, he also likes to scratch on the doors and cabinet trim.I have 2 other cats indoors, and they don't do this. Does any one have any advice on how to stop him from doing this? Thanks!

perhaps one of those cat repellent sprays. I used one years ago and it worked. I do have another one called "No Scratch" that is in a pump bottle and it doesn't work - at least on my cats. I should look for the aerosol one I had a long time agao. That stuff worked great.

Thanks, Mary. Where did you get the spray? Nano.

Miss Brina likes to pluck at the carpet but I thought that was because I made her a scratching post covered with carpet. Confused

Place double sided sticky tape on doors and cabinet trim until Riley stops the action. I hope the sprays work for you as the bitter apple sprays did nothing for my kitties. Mr. Green Have you tried a sprinkle of catnip on the scratching toys? It might deter him from doing more damage to unwanted areas.
