We were playing with one of the cats,Giles. We notcied a hard lump the size of a dime on his side , kind of behind the armpit.

He hasnt had any shots latley, isnt acting differnt, and is eating a drinking normally, however my boyfriend says he has lost weight, but I dont see that. He looks normal to me, but it is his cat so I guess he would know.

We made an appt. for tomorow, tried getting in today but everyone is booked, in the mean time Im wondering if anyone knows what this might be?

It isnt a wound, he is an indoor cat, its a lump under the skin and as i said before its hard. It doesnt seem to bother him when i was touching it. You can also see the lump as well as feel it.

Any ideas?

Hi Winnie. It could be a lot of things, but the most common would be what Mary_NH mentioned; an abscess. Even if they are indoor only cats they can still get them. An example would be from another cat scratching or biting them. An abscess is really easy to treat. Let us know what it is. I hope it's nothing serious.
