|
|
| We have a 2 yr old yellow lab that had been constantly scratching a breaking out on his underside. Our vet switched him to a vennison & potato or fish & potato diet. He has been doing fine. Now my question...I was at our local Petsmart today & noticed they carry that food but not the same brand as our vet. It was Nature's Choice & about $10-15 less than our vet. Does anyone know know if it is the same or should I just stick with our vet's brand? |

They aren't the same.
Nature's Choice really isn't that great of a brand. Natural Balance is a good brand to look for, they have duck & potato and well as a venison food I believe.
You could try to switch and just watch him. If he starts scratching again just change him back. You could look at the ingredients in the vets food and compare them to other foods and try to get one that is similar and cheaper. Even if they have all the same ingredients though, one may cause a reaction b/c of the preparation of the food.
My dog has allergies too. He is on Timberwolf Organics Ocean Blue and is doing OK on it. California Natural is also good. |

| Do you mean natures recipe? I looked up their ingredients and its looks pretty good for an allergy food. I would do Like Eliza suggested and try it out, if he starts scratching go back to thefood or look for other foods that have indentical ingredients. |
