A 20 gallon is a great size tank because you have alot of options, with not too much work to do. He can go for fish such as mollies, platys, most tetras, angel fish, gouramis, betta, bottom feeder etc. Maybe take him to a fish store and pick out some fish that interest him, then go home and DO YOUR RESEARCH! Be careful because some pet stores will tell you that you can put 8 of a certain fish in a 20 gallon, whereas you really cant even fit one. Oh and also check that he has his tank cycled before introducing fish. Good luck and have fun! Very Happy
