I forgot to tell how thankgiving went with Annie...i have to brag..hehe
Well, since one cousin didn't show up and my other cousin boarded her dogs, there was only one dachshund and one 11 month old..as well as many adult relatives..She was pretty good..pretty hyper at first..but ya know..it's Annie...but i thought we were going to have problems with the little dog..We arrived first and the dachshund, Gertie, arrived the next morning..I meant to let them meet outside the house...but they came in before I good get Annie outside...so...luckily the dachshund was being carried and Annie was leashed...the little dachshund started yapping at her immeadiately...and Annie..satrted barking back and growling a bit...so...I took her outside to let her cool down...and then tried to approach again...same thing...so..I decided they just wouldn't be together..Gertie would sit in my uncle's lap and Annie was leashed in the house and she got to where she could ignore the little dog, and as long as Annie stayed on the other side of the room and didn't look in her direction, Gertie would shutup...well...I had Annie outside on the front porch playing fetch(she had a great time being off leash on all that land) and I wasn't aware that my aunt had brought Gertie outside since she went out the back porch...well..all the sudden Annie tears around the corner of the house and I hear loud yelping...and I'm thinking..oh great..she's killing the poor thing...so I come running around the corner after her, and as soon as I see them I know what happened and burst out laughing...Annie was tangled in Gertie's retractable leash, Gertie was on her back underneath Annie on her back yelping and between yelps biting Annie's legs, and poor Annie is standing frozen looking horrified and looks at me like "I didn't do it mom...help me!" apparently, Annie had decided to play and took a big leap at Gertie, and trying to run from her, Gertie had just tangled them both up and had scared herself to death...poor Annie felt terrible about it...as soon as they were untangled she went up to my aunt who was consoling Gertie and jumped up an licked Gertie's nose...and then sat there looking very concerned...so I was very proud of her for not eating the obnoxious thing...and Gertie didn't make one more peep to Annie the entire weekend..she gave her terrible looks...but she didn't offer to bark or bite..hehe
she was also very good with the baby...she loved him!
