My blk moore(sp) goldfish has been swimming upside down and floating upside down. I have no clue why he would be doing this or why he is doing this. Anyone have any ideas? He swims fine, looks healthy, eats fine, he has just started doing this a few days ago. It's starting to worry me a little now.

Thanks for any imput.

EDIT: I just want to clearfily one thing he doesn't do it all the time just sometimes.

Sounds like swim bladder problems. Because of their shape, fancy goldfish are really prone to it. What and how often are you feeding him? For the time being, try giving him a shelled pea. You can take a frozen pea and microwave it for about 15 sec or so then remove the shell and feed him the inside part.

Chelle,
Thank you so much for saving my baby fantail's life! A fish doc & the pet store said it was fatal & there was nothing I could do, but I followed your wonderful advice & he seems completely better!! Totally normal & right side up! So, how long do I feed the shelled peas, & then what do you recommend I feed him to prevent this from happening again?
Thank you!

I'm very happy to hear he's doing better.

Feeding a pea once a week should do a good job of preventing it. You can also try soaking the pellets in water first before feeding him. That way they expand outside of him and not inside.
