I have always heard to let the female pit to decide when she stops feedind the pups, but i have sum friends who take them off at 4 weeks. Does it matter?

I'm not sure what most people do, but I let my dog decide when to ween her puppies. With both of her litters she had them weened at about 5 weeks. I would think it would be best to let them nurse for as long as the mother will let them (within reason of course). That way, they get all the good nutrients from the mother's milk for a little while longer. Just my opinion of course.
