That would have to be the Angelfish With the Red Devil in a strong second. Funny how my two favorites end up being angels and devils.

As much as I love my oscars, if I could only have one tank, I'd probably put africans in it. Simply because they're smaller so you can fit more in a tank and they're available in just about any color. They also have quite a bit of personality and they're not as bad about tearing up tank decorations.

| my faves are river cichlids and demon fishes. firemouths are cool too but a little aggressive. i like the rivers b/c they seem so sweet but they are really the ones that run the fish tank. they put EVERYONE in their place! |

Well Fish Addict
I have sooooooo many favorites... Where do I start...
My absolute Fav's would have to be the Peacock's, they are just breath taking!
#1 AULONOCARA BAENSCHI - AKA - "Sunshine Peacock"
#2 IODOTROPHEUS SPRENGERAE - AKA - "Rusty"
#3 PSEUDOTROPHEUS ACEI - AKA - "Yellow-tailed Acei"
#4 LABIDOCHROMIS CAERULEUS - AKA - "Yellow Lab"
These are my top 4 favorite of the less aggressive African Cichlids... And what I am beginning to stock my 125 gallon with!
Do you have any favorites yet?
What have you decided to stock your Malawi tank with, share with us |

Yup! I sent you the link on your other post... Here it is again
http://www.theaquariumexchange.com/petricola.html
I see you have decided to go with the more aggressive ones, just be sure to introduce all of your "Yellow Labs" first, because although they can hold their own, they are the more peaceful species, and will get stressed if not introduced first.... I suspect, when the bullies move in, they'll still get a 'lil bit stressed, but, having moved in first gives them a better start. Also, if you haven't already purchased one... Get them one of the Extra Large Amazon Plants (Plastic) It will help them seek refuge.... Although, I'm sure your tank is stocked with plenty of rocks and caves already, the Yellow Labs seem to favor this plant... IMO
Good Luck, and keep us posted
OOhhhh, almost forgot.... On Pleco's I'm not too sure. The only Pleco I really like is the "Gold Nugget Pleco", but I don't think it will do well in a tank with Malawi Cichlid's cause the Ph requirements are lower than that of an Mbuna setup They are beautiful though! Maybe someone else can help on the Pleco choices.
Check out your other post, Chelle has sent you a link w/ a ton of Synodontis
