my little Ruppells parrot is about 7 months old and loves spending time out of her cage, which she does to some extent ever day.
i have found a plethora of toys at the pet shops to hang in her cage, which she enjoys, but i'm battling to find toys she can play with when she's out and about.
i need to find or make suitable toys as she has a habit of destroying things she shouldn't (I do put these sort of things away, but there's not much i can do about the wooden window frames). instead of always removing her from her play area, i'd rather avert her attention with something she's allowed to destroy.
and then i wonder if you can tell why she always eats her treats on my shoes. it's rather annoying, but i wonder if there is a bird pychology behind it? is it the smell? maybe she needs a perch?
