just in case - knowledge is a wonderful thing.
I had been contacted by my vet regarding a siamese cat whose owner might be thinking of rehoming her. But this meezer had something going on with her paws that they couldn't figure out and were considering doing a biopsy on.
The vets had never seen this condition - paw pads all swollen and oozy and painful to the cat.
Vet called around other vets and was given the nickname of pillow, or marshmallow paws. Doing some research she found that was exactly it!!!
Since this kitty was diagnosed they have seen 4 other cases just this year! So at least now they know what it is and after never having seen this condition to see 4 is unusual.
We also had a meezer come into rescue with this condition and they didn't know what it was.
Wanted to mention it in case someone's kitty ends up with something similar and your vet has never seen it. Pillow or marshamallow paw is the nickname term |
