you got your first kitty?
My first one, Puff a tuxedo girl, was born 2 weeks before me!!!
My mother worked in a textile mill and she had been feeding a mill cat, earned its trust and brought her home - not knowing she was in the family way (both of them!!!).
That was my first cat...mean one too but I loved her dearly. Puff passed away shortly before our 16th birthday

my parents had sam (a grey tabby) for i think a year or two before i was born. a teacher friend of my mom's cat had kittens, so sam lived in the bathroom of her classroom for a day, lol. he went missing for two years when we moved, but my sisters and i prayed every night that he would come back, got a call from some friends of ours who had just moved to the same time saying their new next door neighbors had just found sam and he was in their garage. he had a heart attack a year and a half later Sad . he was the sweetest cat, used to let us lie on his stomach like a pillow, and he let me push him down my little slide (i believed sam wanted to do everything i did) never got scratched or bit by him or anything.

I'm not sure how old I was when I had my first kitty. I'm guessing around 8 or 9 years old. We only had him for a few years. I remember he went away one day and never came back. Sad

I forgot to mention his name was Cinders.

I got my first Kitty when I was 19, when I moved out of home. We had dogs at home with mum and dad, not kittys.
So when I moved out it was the first thing I did after I got my dogs. We had a stable cat where I kept my horse, she was beautiful, she belonged to the owner of the stables but he never fed her constantly, she was skinny, and NOT DESEXED either, no matter how many times we told him off, he never did anything about it, so I started to feed her on a regular basis, cause she had kittens all the time, and it was really taking it out of her.I couldnt take her home she was too used too living out in the stables.. Her name was Boots.. Because she had four white socks..

Anyway she had a littler of kittens AGAIN and I decided to give one a home, I couldnt have more than 1 cause I had 2 dogs at home too.
I called him "Kevin" lol..
He was a long haired grey with white socks, he was a cutie pie..

It was after college that I got my first kitty. I knew nothing about kitten care and bought him from a mall. He was born with a broken tail and all his siblings looked exactly like him. Shocked He ended up dying from congenital end stage renal failure. But this little tyke has given me unconditional love that no other cat or human has managed to do so he is very special to me. He was also a ham for the camera and very mischievous and a traitor when friends visited, lol.

My family got a cat when I was 11. But I consider my first cat to be Motley, a beautiful calico we got when I was 14. It was just a couple of months after my beloved dog had died and I did not want another cat! Of course as soon as my mom brought home this little fur ball I was smitten!

Moe was my first "on-my-own" kitty.

My parents owned a cat when I was born. His name was Bo Kitty. After he died, we didn't really own any cats. We sort of adopted one stray, we named Tiger.

I grew up with dogs, my family was more into dogs than cats. We also owned a lot of birds. My fiance though, is very allergic to dogs. So now I am a proud mommy of kitties (:

i was about 9 when i started begging mom for a kitten..we got a little white cat w/ a grey spot on her head..the shelter had named her Precious..but at 9 yrs old..i couldnt remember that ..i had to keep asking mom what her name was..so i renamed her Candy...she was the sweetest cat ever..never bit, scratched or hissed...which was good in a house w/ 3 kids under the age of 10..she passed away when i was 21...i miss her...but my Jazzy...i bought her bc she was the exact picture of Candy...but no where near as sweet...so i guess ya cant duplicate personality..but i luv all my babies the same..no matter how they act..lol
