Hello,
We own two mixed breed dogs, both are about 2 years old. Both are now too large to play inside the house. We would like to train them to only do their rough housing outside -- and UNtrain them to do their play inside. Does anyone have advice on how to accomplish this? |

Well, I'm no expert at this, but....We have 2 dogs too, a little boy and a big girl. When my big dog rough plays, she knocks things over and they run into things (including us). We leave their bones and stuff inside, but we keep their rope toys and balls and stuffed animals outside. So, really they don't have anything to play tug-of-war with, except with whatever's outside. That helped alot. But they still do occasionally start up in the house, so before they even REALLY get into the rough play, we just call over, and let them outside. If they don't like staying out there, maybe try going out with them for a couple minutes, they probably like being around people. It worked for our dogs great, but I don't know how your dogs are. They might not like to go outside, or maybe they just don't stop that easily durring their rough play when you call them. But, give it a try, it worked with my dogs, so maybe it'll work with yours too.
I hope I helped you out alittle.
