| Very Cute! Do you have an issue with the cockatiel and the budgies? We had 3 budgies and 1 cockatiel and all were happy out of the cage together - funny actually - but then I read that the tiels bite the feet off the budgies so we haven't done that since. We have one budgie left and I often wonder if he would like to play with the tiel as the tiel sits on his cage and gets his tail pulled and teased. |

When they go to sleep for the night, they are in seperate cages, but threw out the day, they do as they please. |

| Pretty birds there! I cant even take my cockatiel out of his cage, he is so anti social. I wish he would let us hold him or at least get out and fly around but he is so scared. We have tried everything but he seems to be happy in his cage! |

Hi 3dogs,I'm not close to really knowing much about birds yet,but did you buy one of those things,I call a jungle gym, that I have on top of the cage.My birds love it.
I had Jake, the grey cockatiel for a month before I started to get the others. He always seemed "sad" and lonley. So I went out and bought Meiko. He seemed to livin up.
How long have you had your bird?
I also, wrapped mine in a blanket, after around 2 weeks I had them.I would pet their heads and give them a nice rub.I would do this about 2 times a day and hold them around 5 mins.I would also put my hand in the cage while I sang to them. They are like babies to me...lol
Jake responded well to me,and he now perches and started to eat from my hand.Meiko, the lutino,is still nervous and hisses, but he will perch on my finger for a few seconds. He is slowly comming around.
I'm hoping Meiko is a female,I want to hand raise some babies! |

| My cockatiel, Deuce shares his cage with two canaries, and before them 3 keets...he doesnt like any of them, but doesnt hurt them, really, just hisses, so they ignore him. |

How cute they look like my tiels.
I have had my cockatiels and budgies ( parakeets ) in the same aviary without any problems only time problems arise is when in breeding mode and the funny thing is that keets are actually more agressive than the tiels are when they are breeding i had a pair of budgies kill a clutch of my baby tiels when they were 3days old and only 1 survived and i hand raised her.
