Ok, my Kitten Jasper, as you can see him in my pic there near my name..
He has started wee weeing where he's not supposed too Mad

I have 2 cats, Jasper and Jay..They both go in the litter box, no probs. ... The first one time he did it was blatenly when I was cleaning the litter box out, I have a lid on it, keeps it more cleaner, anyway I put the lid down on the laundry floor to clean the litter box out, and he was behind me weeing in the lid, I couldnt believe my eyes.. Shocked

The second time now, he has weed on top of the Box this time, on top on the lid Mad

Whats going on, he was soo good, theres been "NO" change of routine, no food change, nothing Question

I have made a little observation with him, its seems to be only when the litter gets a tad miffy, wee wee smell I mean, but not all that bad though.. Iv always cleaned the box everyday, but changed the whole litter twice a week.

On the litter bags they should be lasting longer than that Question

He is getting Desexed tomorrow, so Im hoping that might help, my other male cat Jay is already desexed, and very very clean..
I hope this isnt going to be an on going problem?? Sad

Any suggestions, or advice.. Your the best

I dont know much about cat behaviour but there are quite a few very knowledgable people that Im sure will help you out. I do know that you should have a litter box per cat, me personally with my cats I changed the litter completely every other day until I got a Littermaid....which worked like a dream might I add...

I dont know how old your kittys are, it doesnt sound like hes starting to spray though as everywhere he has gone is 'litter box related'.

Hi.

When you take him to the vet, let them know that he has been urinating outside of the litter box. They may want to test him for a U.T.I. (urinary tract infection) or other possible causes. If he checks out okay, I would definitely get 1-2 more litter boxes and keep all of them very clean. They don't all have to be next to each other, just put them in areas of your home where there is not a lot of noise or activity.

Ditto to what's been said. I would add to clean up any accidents with an enzymatic cleaner. Even when we can't smell anything, they can. And if you could smell the boxes, I'm sure they REALLY could.

Ok, he's back from the vets, and alls well, everything checked out good, done, desexed, and he's back to his bouncy self again already...
They do it now without even stitches in, beats me how???? Shocked

Sooo Im keeping an eye out on him, he's been in the litter box, and wee wee in there..
So fingers crossed..

i put my 2 litter boxes right beside each other...that way it is easier to clean them togather and easier for my cats too cuz my cats pee in one and poop in the other.

Max used to have only one box..but when i got Mini, 2 months ago, i bought a second litter box. then after a week i started noticing that one of the boxes always had poop in it only..and the other had only pee. i dont know if it is just my cats...or other people's cats too Laughing

Glad the surgery went well! I'd love a Littermaid. Someone even came up with a non-disposable poop tray ($40). It's expensive but might be very clean and convenient for small spaces and multi-cat families.

The Littermaids have come down in price quite a bit and I would pay whatever for it if I only had Sabrina. Rolling Eyes

The cat has to go away from the sides for it to swipe the clump properly and Copper goes all over the sides. Plus he needs high sided boxes.

Part of my solution to Copper spraying all over my house was to separate the boxes. They seem to prefer them in different rooms. But when they were together, there was usually only one with poo in it.

Coppersmom, that's a very good point. Monty and Milo like to spray from all sides too. Shocked

The Littermaid probably would not work too well for them. We use the high walls too made from plexiglass and eliminated any sprays that end up on the floor under the box. I wonder if they can be trained to spray low?
