in the past ive had angel fish (which i'll never get again!!!)...when they died, they always went in between the filter and the tank wall...they didnt float or anything they jsut layed there tilll they died all of them one at a time!! i dont know why?
and when i got my first fish ever it was a goldfish and she lived for a while...but then died and she was all blue, and sunken to the bottom of the tank
p.s. ive never had fish before some one jsut gave me a tank witha bunch of fish and said to feed them twice a day, when this happened...it was probably a year ago??? |

Angel fish require large tanks, heavily planted, and soft water. If you don't have all of those, then your angels could be stressed and die. Goldfish require huge tanks... or better yet, ponds with cold water.
Unfortunately aquarium keeping is based on what tank you have. You will have to tell us the size of your tank, filters, etc. You can't really buy the fishes you want, you need to buy fishes to fit your tank. |

Even the smaller, fancy varieties of goldfish get around 6" long (I've even seen a few in real life that were nearly 8" long). Some people say 10 gallons/goldfish, but I don't even think that's enough. Really, I wouldn't go any smaller than 15 - 20 gallons/fancy goldfish.

everyone says something different...its so confusing! |

When fish "grow to the size of their tank" they get stunted. Stunting leads to defomities, health issues, and early death. It is NOT good for the fish.
Tip: Never trust the people at the pet store (especially large chain stores). 9 times out of 10, they're just high school or college students who want some extra spending money and have never kept fish in their lives. And even if that's not the case, you have to remember that pet stores are in the business of making money. They sell someone 2 goldfish for a 1 gallon tank. The fish die. The person comes back and buys replacement fish. Or the fish get sick and the person buys tons & tons of medicine. Or the person finally does reasearch, finds their tank is too small so they go & buy a bigger tank & equipment. $$$.

Did the goldfish die? If so, I'm very sorry.
Have you started doing water changes?
Looked into getting those test kits for ammonia, nitrIte, and nitrAte yet?
