while researching my new container garden..found this..thought i would share..lots of info here..i never know Hyacinth, Tulips and Tomato plants were dangrous for cats..

Only thing i knew for sure was Onions, Lillies, and Pointsettas

I didn't know tomato plants were evil. I've never seen a kitty inhale or injest tomato plants and I was just about to start my seeds for our patio planting. Crying or Very sad

The problem with tomatoes is that they're in the nightshade family, and therefore contain a low level of natural toxins. Low-level for humans, but not for cats, since they're much much smaller. Other nightshades include potatoes, peppers, and eggplants (aubergines). Deadly nightshade (belladonna) is the, you guessed it, deadliest and most infamous member of the nightshade family. Hard to believe that we regularly consume the close relatives of this plant! But they're just so yummy...
