| A small fish shop close to my home has recieved a batch of flowerhorns and I was thinking of getting a pair but, I am unsure how big of a tank they will need. Any help would be appreciated. |

I agree, although in terms of bioload, they should have at least 50 gallons each; due to aggression, I'm not even sure you have much luck trying to keep a pair in a 180.

ok, I am not sure if I am going to get one since I don't know how long it takes them to grow and they're only about an inch long...a 55gal is a little big for the time being. Maybe once I have a tank up and going I will get a flower horn.
Oh and I do know its best to start off with the tank size you'll need and I won't overstock a tank but, I think that its fine to put a fish in a smaller tank for a bit if you already have the tank they are going into so you know nothing will fall through. |
