I was wondering if anyone here owns a cerebellar hypoplasia cat. I have 2 and havn't found many specific forums for those who own them. For those of you who don't know what they are here is a good link that explains it....

Anyone have any other kinds of special needs cats?? |

| No I don't, but it's a very informative site. To what extent do your kitties have the CH? |

My boys aren't that bad....They can both walk and run. My five year old is just a high stepper...he kind of walks like a soldier if you can immagine it. I have a new little boy that is worse but can still walk and run (looks like a drunk at last call). He falls down regularly but it doesn't stop him from running and romping with the other cats. He's about 10 wks old.
I've fostered and placed many of these cats over the years. I find that for the most part they live almoslt normal lives. There have been a few that have come to me at a very young age (3-5wk) and have never learned to get about well enough to be placed and that's always sad. I try to give them the chance to learn to overcome as much of their disability as possible. I don't know many homes that would or could take in a cat that can't walk at all. |
