| First I got three fish in January, and 2 of them died. And the one that did not die, is still alive! he is 7 months old! do you have a fish that is that old? because I did not know if fish can live that long. |

| I have had goldfish and convicts for 3+ years, I think it depends on what species of fish because some I think have shorter livespans than others, that is if they died naturally and not because of bad water quality, or somthing along those lines. |

I have a panda cory that will be around 2 this December. He's my oldest fish I have right now.
When I was younger I had a red eye tetra that outlived all my other fish and made it to around 4 years. |

What kind of fish are they? Depending on the species, some fish will only live for 1 - 2 years while other fish (like goldfish & some cichlids) can live 15 - 20+ years.
My oldest fish would be my oscar and a few african cichlids. They're about 2 1/2 years old.
I had a betta that lived to be about 3 years old (assuming he was around a year old when I got him).

Tea like said all depends on species. Goldfish live long. My oldest fish is my full sized blue gourami, i dont know how old he is cuz i got him with the tank, and i dont know how old the person bought it or how old he was kept. My oldest fish will be my convict, most convicts live 10 years +.
So yea tell us the fish species and we can help u out. |

| When given good care the freshwater Killie Fish has the shortest natural lifespan that I know of which is generally 2 years maximum. |

My Oscars lived to be about 16 years old before one just died of old age(probably), and the other we think died from a bad batch of feeder fish that all died while my parents where on vacation...they all rotted there and he was dead when my parents got back. Damn house sitter didn't say a thing.
I had a rainbow shark that lived to be about 6 years old before Ich killed him, and an algae eater who lived through the Ich, also 6 years. I swear those things could survive a nuke attack. |

My Red Bellys are 4 years old now, and my oldest sw fish my yellow tang is 6 years old. All these fish were dime in size when I got them... now my piranhas are 8-9 inches long and my yellow tang is 5 inches long.
My oldest fish was a goldfish that I got when I was 5. He lived until I went to college in his 10 gallon tank (he was the only fish in there). That was 13 years! |
