2 oscars will eventually not get along in a 55. A 75 will be your bare minumum for 2. How large are the oscars? You will most likely not be able to tell there gender unless the are 6 or 7+ inches by the venting process. The females will look like this i believe ( OO ) while the males will look like this ( oO ) Someone with more experience in venting may have to correct me I'm jsut trying to recollect the process. Hope this helps and Good Luck with the oscars. - tl

You either keep 1 oscar or at least 4 in a group. With just 2 oscars most liekly the stronger one will pick on the weaker one, and in some cases kill it. 55g is way to small for 2 oscars. You should get at least a 150g and add 3 more oscars to the bunch.

wow dude 150 is a bit excessive haha. For 2 oscars IF they get along id say 90gallons is a good size maybe even 80 if you are lucky.

I agree you need a 75 gallon minimum, you should get a new tank soon, or your oscars will be aggressive their might be complications with growth. Also, sexing oscars is very difficult even for the breeders themselves, but I think one of them has a vent or somthing I don't quite remember.
