i have just started breeding siamese fighters and i think she is pregnant she has a swollen belly r there any other signs to look for and how long is the gestation period thanks[/b]

It may also be constipation. Other than that, she's prolly pregnant, but srry I don't know any other ways.

What proceedure have you been using to breed them?

Bettas are not livebearers therefore they can't be pregnan and there is no real gestation period (at least in mammal/livebearer terms). During spawning, the female will release the eggs and the male will fertilize them and put them in the bubble nest.

If her belly is swollen then it is likely over feeding, constipation, being eggy, or possibly dropsy.
