When a fish is put in a dark room. then suddenly a light is turned on (Which is quite frequent in my house) do they go into viusal shock? If so what are the effects and signs?

Fish dont have eye lids, so I guess its like being blinded temporarily. Avoid Turning on lights when they're in a dark room.

well, they can usually freak out for a few seconds, and depending on the fish they can hide or dart around the tank or other things.
