Deworming is the removal of parasites from the dogs body. Many parasites if left untreated can kill a dog. Every dog should be dewormed once a year. Puppies should be dewormed every 3 weeks while they are recieving their vaxes. You should bring a fecal sample to the vets so they can determine if the dog is carrying any parasites, and what medication to use. these parasites are zoonotic meaning they can be transmitted to people as well. Vaccinations vary on where you live. Some areas are more prone to different issues. An all around vax is a 5 way called DHLPP it covers Distemper, hepatitis, Lepto, Parvo, and parainfluenza. Ask your vet for recommendations on vaccinations and vaccination protocols. Every dog should see a veterinarian atleast once a year even if they are healthy for routine check ups. IP: Logged |
