I think our pit bull is younger than we thought. He has too much crazy puppy energy to be two years old. He goes outside and runs like mad and then tries to jump up and bounce off of us with all four legs. Anyone have a suggestion to keep him from doing this? I guess just more work on down, off and no. I think my husband has encouraged it with toys. Grr. He's been pretty mouthy lately ( the dog, not the husband heh heh). I think he's bored because the nasty weather has set in and we don't put him out as much. my husband drives me crazy cause he doesn't have the patience to do any consistent training. So I'm always training and he's always reversing. Thats the main reason I'm holding off an another dog right now. We really need to work on not tearing into the house at 90 miles an hour.

When I got my dog I was told that he was 1 yrs old, now through investigation and everything else we found out that he is actually going to be 4 years old next month and he still runs around like a pup and is just definatly just high energy and I personally don't think that it is going to ever stop with him, just enjoy his energy while you can.

I love the energy, just wish the hubby wouldn't encourage the uncontroled energy so much :-) Our pit has a thing about a plastic porky pig bank, a deck of cards being shuffled, and his grooming glove. Plus his flat soccer ball in the backyard lol. He sees those and its hyper time.

Try a heeler, they NEVER settle down!

Charllotte is the most hyper of the two, she's always and I mean always got to be the center of attention. She will even whine and make funny noises and bounce around until someone looks at her and aknowledges her. If petting someone else, she'll jump right inbetween ya,

She can run for days without getting tired and she's 4 years old!!!

HAVE YOU TRIED USING A TREADMILL???? IN THE HOUSE WE JUST BOUGHT, A DOG DIED OF PARVO IN THE BACK YARD, SO THERE WAS NO WAY IN HELL I WAS GOING TO LET MY DOGS OUT UNTIL ALL THE CHEMICALS AND VIRUSES WERE GONE. THE VET SAID TO TRY A TREADMILL TO WORK THEM OUT. BUT FIRST YOU HAVE TO GET THEM USED TO THE MACHINE SLOWLY. IT WORKED FOR MY DOGS.
