Help! Our 7-year old budgie has developed a new behaviour we've not seen before. He is eating anything he can find: his own things, human food from the plate, newspapers et al. Then he goes back to his cage, regurgitates this as a kind of paste and sticks it all over the place.

He's been doing this for about two weeks. While he's always enjoyed "sharing" our meals and he's nibbled the paper from time to time this is far beyond anything we've experienced with him, especially the pasting.

TIA for any help -- we really appreciate it.

Hi i would have him checked by an avian vet as regurgitating food is not normal if there is no hen around this could be one of the signs of a crop infection.

Newspaper can be toxic to birds and human foods unless its fruit and vegtables should not be given to birds.
