A few months ago I purchased this gelding at an auction and afterwards realized he had a nasal discharge of green food material. When he drank water, it would come out of his nose. I had him seen by a local vet who concluded it was a chest cold. I began treating it. I later discoverd that it was more complicated and I decided I needed another vet's advice. I decided to contact a well known vet, Dr.Riddle in Cecil County, MD
I was given medication nasal spray. I sense this will only be a temporary fix to the problem. I have no information on this 17.1 hand gelding. I sense he raced at Penn national. His tattoo is difficult to read. It could be B2_387. The fact remains, my TB could suffer from soft palate paralysis which causes food material or water to run ou t of his nose during eating or drinking and that the possibility of inhalation pneumonia due to inspiration may take place. Any suggestions. Who has been down this road before and is willing to provide advice? IP: Logged |
