Yup, and it's highly contagious. It is called actually "conjunctivitis". Inflammation of the eyelid, and can be treated with Terramycin opthalmic ointment which can be bought via pet catalogs. Clean the eyes with a sterile eye saline solution like Opticlear and then dab dry, and apply the ointment in the lower "pouch" of the lid which can be done by pulling the eyelid a little and run a stream of it and close the eye a few seconds for it to melt. Important to treat each eye SEPARATELY in order to avoid cross-contamination. Wash yer hands after...LOL! IP: Logged |
