i have a 20 gal tank. made sure water levels were ok. had them check it a t the pet store. I just bought 2 african cichlids and that same night 1 died. any ideas or suggestions on what to do or the cause? IP: Logged |

some fish stores have a policy that their fish are guarenteed for 24 or 48 hours (for example). Often you have to take the dead fish and the receipt (gross...I know but they want proof to give you credit). Thats all I can say about it...sorry. IP: Logged |

So did you actually cycle the tank first? If you don't have your own test kits, my guess is you didn't cycle your tank. That probably isn't what caused that fish to die, but if the tank isn't cycled, there's a good chance any other fish you add will die. As for that fish, you could have just gotten a bad fish. Where there any sick looking fish in the tank at the LFS? What kind of africans where they? Did it look like he was attacked by the other one? -Chelle IP: Logged |
