How long does it actually take a guppy to deliver her babies? DD's guppy had 2 babies last night (unless she ate some) and nothing since. She is still very round. Thanks. IP: Logged |

Is there anything else (fish) in the tank with her? Are there plants that would hide the babies, and are the dark spots on her abdomen gone? IP: Logged |

usually it wont take that long, but the parent fish along with any other fish would gladly dine on them, so your best bet would b to remove the fry as soon as possible and take care of them that way. IP: Logged |

Mine have always delivered their fry within a couple hours. I had a guppy once deliver about 13 fry and stay fat until she delivered another batch 3 weeks later. After that one she slimmed down. I'm not sure why she stayed fat after the first batch. -Chelle IP: Logged |

Since I last posted, she has had 6 more. She is in one of those plastic breeding traps, so the babies have nowhere to hide excepton the bottom. Would they be safe to put in with babies born this past monday? The older ones seem almost twice the size of these. IP: Logged |
