as you all know pirhanas are carnivorous fish !we already knew this is one of the reasons we bought our one from our local pet shop.when we got it it was only about half an inch long and we were told to feed it bloodworms and lance fish so we did as we were told and it grew to about 3 inches long we were told to get a larger tank and the fish would grow larger.we couldnt really afford a larger tank at the time so we took to feeding it live goldfish after the first one we decided to name it sid vicious! we never really realised how vicious our dear little friend was until a little episode last night which resulted in a trip to the a&e department at our local hospital.after a very fast car ride lots of shouting swearing and hot flushes we finally tried to explain to the lady behind the desk that our 19 month old son had put his hand in the fish tank and got his finger bitten by our pet fish !! the look on her face was a definate kodak moment as was the look on ours i presume then at last some one decided to take a look at our sons finger and put some bandages and plasters on it not a nice experience for any of us trust me !!! the fish i would like to add was removed from my hallway and placed at my friends house where it will remain for the rest of its life my son is fine ,just a bit annoyed with the layers of steri strips and bandages i think i wouldnt advise anyone to do what we did as you will probably end up with a unhappy ending or the fish will !! good luck IP: Logged |
