My daughter came home a few days ago with two fish I think are tetras. One is albino and slightly deformed (but swims just fine). The other is silver with a black stripe. My daughter only wanted the misfit, but the fish store refused to sell it to her because they didn't think it would live. They gave it to her and sold her another one. Big mistake! The albino would've been fine if not for the other one picking on it! We had decided to separate them today, but before we could get another tank going, the attacks on the albino got more vicious. I really think he's dying now, but he's still breathing and still horizontal. Is there anything I can do to help? IP: Logged |

This post is a few days old now, so I hope your fish is still alive. You can try adding stress coat to the tank to help repair the slimecoat and fins. Watch it for bacterial infections. It may take some time for your new tank to cycle. You can kickstart the process by adding water and gravel from the old tank to the new. Good luck. IP: Logged |

It is too late, but thanks for replying. My daughter always picks out the misfits, so I'm sure we'll have another one soon, but next time we'll refuse to bring another one home with it! IP: Logged |
