please help my baby oscar doesn't look like he's doing that good i have had him for about a month and a half now. he hasn't been eating lately and i went in there just now and his front face back to his gills is all green and he is laying on the rocks. i noticed that when he is on the rocks his caudal fin is like shivering, twitching like he is cold or something. any information would be much appreciated. Thanks. Skatefan IP: Logged |

Hi skatefan29, Check your ammonia/nitrite and PH levels. This isn't much to go on, but indications are water problems, most likely high ammonia. Other possibilities but not likely are heavy metal contamination. Is there anything metal in the tank or have you treated the tank with copper lately? IP: Logged |

How often do you do water changes? have you been using water detoxifier with water changes? How often do you change your carbon/filter? Do you have good oxygen exchange in your tank (lots of surface agitiation/ can you see bubbles down in the water floating around)? Do you have a heater for your tank? what is the temp?
