personally, I would do african cichlids, mbuna and some peacocks will do fine in that mix. hap moori, red empress, azureus. red top zebra, red zebra, cobalt blue, yellow labs. those are my favorites for color and personality. read up on it.. they are great fish and so colorful people always think my 55 gallon is a saltwater tank. enjoy! Hi cj101, The first thing to put in your tank is water. Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I've probably answered this question a 100 times and finally have realized that I have probably given the wrong answer 100 times. I've always given what I prefer in a tank. So for a change I'm going to give you the right answer. An aquarium is a reflection of your personal preference. What appeals to you. Whether it is the big bulky puppy dog of aquariums, the Pacu, or the sleek jurassic apperance of the Arawana, or the multitude of colors in African Cichlids or Tetras, it is all a matter of personal preference. If there is one particular type of fish you like, go with that and build around it with fish that are compatible. If you have a general idea of what you want your tank to look like and have at least one particular fish that you want you will find probably more help than you need to build around that. With these guidelines no matter what type fish you put in it, it will be a beautiful tank and give you years of enjoyment. IP: Logged |

If you can get an Iridescent shark with some color then that would look good. They look just like real sharks but don't terrorize your tank. IP: Logged |
